OVERVIEW

The Container is a widget that’s the perfect solution for nesting content inside a container. The widget is fully responsive and works with different breakpoints. It allows you to save valuable space on your page and offers three unique methods of navigating through the container. It can be used as a scrollbox for paragraphs, or it can be used to show product shots so users can pan through full-resolution images, or you can use it to show off detailed-views of your images, and much more. The possibilities are endless.

Widget options

The Widget option panel consists of five main sections. Each section is to control specific functionalities. See the sections below, and click on each one to see the related documentation.

Widget option

The Container

“The Container” is the main part of the widget. Place it anywhere on the page that you want it to show up, and it will contain “the stuff” part (the content that you want nested) or another object (that has the same Graphic Style name typed inside the Widget option panel).

1. Container's Graphic Style

The Graphic Style Name typed in the Widget option panel for “The Container” should be the same style that is assigned to “The Stuff”.

Make sure that you assign the Graphic Style only to one object. So if you are using the sample container “The Stuff” part, then do not assign the Graphic Style typed in this widget’s option panel to any other object on your page.

2. Navigation Method

There are three unique navigation methods that you can use with the Container

  1. Grab: Click and drag your way through the Container’s contents
  2. Panning: Reveal the contents of the Container by simply moving your mouse
  3. Simple Scroll: Scroll through the Container’s contents

Scrollbar: Check this box to have a scrollbar showing on the Container.

3. Mouse Cursor

You can add your own custom mouse cursor images for both ‘normal’ and ‘mouse-down (on-grab)’ states by clicking ‘Add File’.

Widget option

THE STUFF

This is a container for “The Container”. You can scale this container up and place anything inside of it: text, images, etc. Then you can place “The Container” itself anywhere on the page where you want it to show up.

“The Stuff” isn’t necessarily a part of the widget, it’s just a sample container with a sample Graphic Style assigned to it (the graphic style name is “TheStyle”).

The sample container is based on an accordion container, however, you’re free to use a text frame or other container if desired. Just make sure to create a Graphic Style name for your container with “The Stuff” and to assign the same name to “The Container” as well.

Step by Step

  1. Place your content that you want nested inside “the stuff” (the accordion container).
  2. Place “the container” where you want your nested content to appear on the page.
  3. Make sure that “the stuff” and “the container” have the same Graphic Style, the widget’s default Graphic Style is “TheStyle”. The Graphic Style name of “the container” can be changed by going to the main Widget option panel and typing it into “Container’s Graphic Style”.
  4. Optional: Customize the widget further through the main Widget option panel by choosing a navigation method, adding an optional scrollbar, or by adding custom cursors.
